PART 1: THE COLD READ

The Narrator

Welcome to the third Critical Session.  Tonight we have Noah Dillon [pause and allow Noah to gesture his presence] critiquing the work of HC HUYNH.  In her place tonight, we have THE DUNCE. [THE DUNCE waves] This first portion will be Noah giving a 10 minute cold read of the work.

***EXACTLY 10 MINUTES MUST PAST BEFORE CONTINUING THE SCRIPT***

PART 2: THE “ARTIST & CRITIC” DISCUSSION

*** IF THE 5 MINUTES IS UP, JUMP TO PAGE 5***

The Narrator

Noah has given a very generous read of the work.  Now we transition to the [use your hand to gesture the quotations] “Artist & Critic” discussion of the work.  Unfortunately, the artist is not present. So THE DUNCE will take her place.  However, THE DUNCE will not be taking questions.  THE DUNCE turns to Noah [THE DUNCE turns to Noah] and asks, “Is this what you have expected?  What qualities of this reflected what was in the portfolio? What is different?”

Noah Dillon

[Noah replies back to THE DUNCE]

The Narrator

THE DUNCE makes a contemplative face [THE DUNCE poses contemplatively] and asks Noah, “How do you feel about the artist not being present tonight?  Does it enhance or hinder the work?”

Noah Dillon

[Noah replies back to THE DUNCE]

The Narrator

THE DUNCE stares out at the audience to think about what Noah had just said. [THE DUNCE stares out at the audience to think.] A thought dawns THE DUNCE [THE DUNCE gestures a thought dawning] but then the thought fleeted and THE DUNCE retrieves. [THE DUNCE retrieves] Slowly THE DUNCE turns to Noah and asks… [THE DUNCE asks Noah a question]

[Noah replies back to THE DUNCE]

The Narrator

The “Artist & Critic” discussion has come to an end.

PART 3: OPEN FORUM

The Narrator

This Critical Session now transitions over to an Open Forum.  The audience may ask questions directed only to Noah.  THE DUNCE will not be taking questions.  Noah also has the opportunity to pose questions to the audience as well.  [Pause]  JOHN MONTI steps up to the front of the audience… ***Wait for JOHN MONTI TO STEP UP TO THE FRONT & Continue to say the previous line until he does so*** [John Monti stands up] … and asks Noah a question. [John asks Noah a question]

Noah Dillon

[Noah answers John’s questions]

The Narrator

Kelly Driscoll then steps to the front next to John Monti and makes a comment about what was just said. ***WAIT UNTIL KELLY DOES SO & CONTINUE SAYING SO UNTIL SHE DOES IT.  GIVE HER A DISAPPROVING LOOK IF SHE FAILS TO COMPLY*** [KELLY moves to the front and makes a comment] At this point things may have an organic flow.

***ALLOW THIS TO BE A NORMAL OPEN FORUM UNTIL THE END. THE DUNCE WILL CONTINUE TO BE SILENT***
